On Monday nights Papa Charlie’s transforms into a listening room showcasing the Midwest’s most talented songwriters in a theater-like setting. The intimate room coupled with its impeccable sound allows the audience to immerse into the stories and craft of the song. Whether you’re in Lutsen for a midweek vacation or a local inhabitant, these free intimate acoustic performances are a must-see on your weeknight itinerary.
Since 1995, Cloud Cult has crafted sprawling, cathartic albums that have won them the attention of the New York Times, MTV, Spin, Billboard and a devoted following of fans. During that time, the band grew from the solo project of singer/songwriter Crain Minowa to include the rock band along with violin, cello, trumpet, trombone, and French horn. Two live painters create original artwork on stage during each performance. The band has remained independent for the past decade and a half in favor of keeping total control of the ethical aspects of their music and business, despite enticing offers from notable major labels. In the process, Cloud Cult has sold over 100,00 albums out of lead singer/songwriter Craig Minowa’s organic hobby farm.
The Papa Charlie’s show is an evening with Cloud Cult featuring an acoustic set followed by an electric set. To improve the guest experience, we are limiting the room capacity to provide better sightlines. This show has sold out the past four years. Advanced tickets recommended.
